The Architecture of Sound: Inside the Glisad Process

At the heart of Glisad Music lies a unique duality: the precision of a classical conservatory and the raw intuition of mental arrangement. While many independent artists rely on presets and loops, Kailii Cherestal (aka Queen K Cher) builds every sonic layer from the ground up, bridging the gap between the prestigious FAU Department of Music and the modern digital studio.

A Multi-Faceted Voice: From Strings to Vocals

Whether she is weaving intricate viola melodies or delivering a captivating vocal performance, K. Cher approaches every track with the ear of a conductor. Classically trained under Dr. Diane Weisberg (Viola) and Dr. Laura Joella (Conducting), she has traded the traditional sheet music for a more visceral "mental score." In a creative "call and response," King-A’B Cher vocalizes the melodic vision, and K. Cher uses her finely-tuned aural skills to translate those thoughts into resonant performances—entirely by ear. This vocal dexterity is further refined by her studies in Vocal Techniques under Dr. Stacie Rossow, allowing K. Cher to treat her voice with the same technical discipline and expressive phrasing as her viola.

The Chamber Music Philosophy

Drawing on her time in chamber ensembles under Rebecca Lautar, K. Cher treats every Glisad production as an intimate conversation. She views her vocals and viola as "essential voices" designed to breathe alongside King-A’B Cher’s spoken word. By applying the "slow-to-fast" rehearsal discipline she mastered at Florida Atlantic University, she captures complex, unwritten improvisations with the same precision as a symphonic masterpiece.

The Final Touch: Analog Warmth, Digital Precision

Armed with a Bachelor's in Music in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Music Technology, K. Cherestal personally handles the engineering, mixing, and mastering for Glisad. Trained by industry icons like Michael Zager and Alejandro Sánchez-Samper, she meticulously balances the "essentials"—compression, EQ, and reverb—to achieve a signature "analog warmth." The result is a sound that is technically flawless yet deeply human, where every note and vocal inflection is intentionally conducted to support the story being told.

Dr. Laura Joella – Orchestral Conducting

Professor Rebecca Lautar – Chamber Music & String Pedagogy

Dr. Stacie Rossow – Vocal Techniques

Professor Michael Zager – Music Production & Commercial Music

Professor Alejandro Sánchez-Samper – Audio Engineering & Music Technology

Signed, Queen K Cher (Kailii Cherestal)
